ORANGEBURG, SC — The South Carolina State women's soccer team will open their 2021 campaign, Thursday (Aug.19^th) when they host Jacksonville University at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium/Willie Jeffries Field. First kick is 7 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs return two seniors Brionna Mack (Columbia, SC) and Kierra Cox (Denver, CO), along with two juniors Savannah Thompson (San Diego, CA) and Trinity Kelley (Atlanta, GA) from the 2019 season.

First-year head coach Patrick Horne welcomes eight newcomers to a squad, that didn't participate in field play in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In their last outing, SCSU knocked off USC-Lancaster 7-0 during an exhibition play last Thursday in Orangeburg.

The Dolphins enters the contest after coming off an 1-10-1 finish last season, while in 2019 the Lady Bulldogs wrapped up the season at 3-11.

Next up, SC State will embark on a three-game road swing beginning with Lees-McRae on Aug. 22^nd at 7 PM, Hampton University on Aug 29^th at 11 AM, and Jacksonville University on Aug. 31^st at 6 PM.
