NORFOLK, VA---Preseason All-MEAC sophomore forward
Trinity Klock tossed recorded the only double-double with a team-high 19 points and 11 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the South Carolina State drop its season-opener 80-52, to Old Dominion Tuesday (Nov. 9
th) at Chartway Arena.
Newcomer freshman guard
Nicole Gwynn added 15 in the loss.
Despite and lofty 35 turnovers, SC State led the way in bench points with 22 on the evening.
In 37 minutes of play, Klock finished with shooting 7-of-15 from the field along with five (5) block shots.
ODU had five players in double-figures with Ajah Wayne and Iggy Allen both with 15, and Kaye Clark and Amari Young added 11 each. Mariah Adams added 10 in the win.
What's Next
The Lady Bulldogs return to action when Saturday (Nov. 13
th) when they host Coastal Carolina in a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m. inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
