WASHINGTON, DC—The South Carolina State volleyball played their best match yet of the season but suffered a tough 3-1 defeat to Howard on Sunday (Nov. 7
th) at Burr Gymnasium.
The Lady Bulldog won their first set of the season in a 25-23 victory over five-time MEAC Champion Howard in the third set, before dropping a tough 20-25 loss in the fourth set to the Lady Bison.
Freshman Setter/Libero Kendal Rivera posted her first double-double, finishing with 24 assist and 10 digs. Maria Julia also added 10 kills and 8 digs in the loss.
Prior to the tough loss to Howard, SC State played tough versus Norfolk State on Friday (Nov. 6
th) dropping an 22-25 decision in the third set.
South Carolina State falls to 0-22 overall, 0-12 in the MEAC on the season.
The Lady Bulldogs wrap of the regular season campaign on Friday (Nov. 12) on the road at North Carolina Central. First serve is 6 p.m.
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament will be held Nov.19
