DURHAM, NC--- The South Carolina State women's volleyball team set to play in their regular season finale on the road at North Carolina Central Friday (Nov. 12
th) in a 6 p.m. start .
A LOOK AT SCSU: The Bulldogs are in search of their first win of the season and first since Sept. 28, 2018 (71-match losing streak). South Carolina State (0-22 Overall, 0-13 MEAC) just won its first set of the season in its last match against MEAC co-leader Howard University on Sunday.
Junior transfer
Maria Julia Vedovatto Loureiro, who played her first two seasons at Missouri State University-West Plains, has taking over the team on the attack. She is averaging a team-best 2.55 kills to go along with averages of 1.88 digs and 0.28 aces per set. Senior
Gabrielle Wells, who previously played at Johnson C. Smith, is the only other Bulldog averaging over one kill per set. Freshmen
Kayleigh Sullivan and Kendal Rivera have taken over the setting duties at SCSU, averaging 4.47 and 2.51 assists per set, respectively. Freshman Kendal Rivera tops the Bulldogs with 1.89 digs per set.
A LOOK AT NCCU: The Eagles are coming off a 3-1 road win at Norfolk State on Sunday. NCCU (9-13 Overall, 8-5 MEAC) is tied for third place in the league standings with Coppin State University.
