Information for SC State Student-Athletes

As of April 3, 2020, there are 38 states and the District of Columbia have issued Stay at Home Orders. Also, there are Stay at Home Orders in parts of ten other states. We now have new estimates that now show 25% of coronavirus carries don't even feel sick and can infect others blindly. This is why social distancing is so important. You are a loved one could be exposed by someone who has the coronavirus that is asymptomatic. THAT IS WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Practice everyday preventive actions to help reduce your risk of getting sick and remind everyone in your home to do the same. These actions are especially important for older adults and people who have severe chronic medical conditions.

  1. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  2. Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.

  3. Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue and throw the tissue in the trash.

  4. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing; going to the bathroom; and before eating or preparing food.

  5. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.

  6. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects (e.g., tables, countertops, light switches, doorknobs, and cabinet handles).

  7. Clean and disinfect your mobile phones and devices per the manufacture's recommendation. Information is now out that suggest that the virus could live up to 4 days on your mobile devices.

Also, make sure you clean your mobile phones and smart watches. Information is now out that the virus could live on your device for up to 4 days. We all know from past test that your mobile can be dirtier than a toilet seat.

Most people who get COVID-19 will be able to recover at home.
