NORFOLK, Va.,—Perennial power and defending MEAC Champion South Carolina State fell short of claiming their second straight title, 4-2 to Morgan State Saturday at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
It marked the Bears' first-ever MEAC title in men's tennis.
In singles the Bulldogs earned victories, Aleska Daskalovic at No. 2 singles with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Kharchev to give the Bulldogs their first point of the match.
South Carolina State closed out the season at 10-13 overall, 4-0 in MEAC play.
Morgan State earned the MEAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship, the field for which will be unveiled on NCAA.com on Monday at 6 p.m. EST.
