Bulldogs Close Out Spring Drills With Annual Garnet & Blue Spring Game

ORANGEBURG, SC—South Carolina State will hold their annual Garnet and Blue Spring game Saturday (April 13th) at O.C. Dawson Stadium, beginning at 12 noon. Admission is free to the public.

Anyone attending the event is asked to sit on the home side of the stadium. Season tickets are on sale and can be purchased at the SC State Ticket Office on Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

The annual contest will match the SC State offense against the Bulldog defense, with the defense scoring using a special points system.

Prior to the game on Friday, April 13th, the South Carolina State Class of 1975 will host its annual A Night Of Legends of Jazz at the Orangeburg Country Club, Friday, April 12th from 7 p.m.-11 p.m. Ticket are still available, admission is $125 and can be purchased at the door.

All proceeds will support the Lift-A-Bulldog Program. Sponsorships are available upon request.

Bulldog head coach Buddy Pough, is entering his 18th season (125-71 record) at the helm, will play an 11-game schedule, beginning in the season-opener on August, 31st at home versus Wofford University, Kick-off is 6 p.m.

A.        The Game will feature the Offense (White Jerseys) vs. the Defense (Garnet Jerseys)
B.        At the start of the game and after each score, possession will start on the 35-yard line.

*A 3 and Out will score before a Stop (Ex: Offense throws in INT on the 2nd play of a series = 2 pts)
 *A touchdown or safety will score before a 3 & Out or a Stop (Ex: Offense throws an INT on the first play of a series and Defense runs it back for a Touchdown = 6 pts.
*Any Extra Point following a Defensive Touchdown will score for the Defense.
