SAVANNAH, GA—The South Carolina State women's volleyball team posted their first win of the season in dominating fashion knocking off Savannah State,3-0, in their Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) opener at Wilcox-Wiley Gymnasium Friday (Sept. 28
th).
The Lady Bulldogs snap a 26-game losing streak to improve to 1-14 overall, 1-0 in the MEAC, while Savannah State falls to 1-14 overall, 0-1 in the league.
South Carolina State won in straight set 25-20, 25-13, and 25-23 to post their first win of the season.
Sophomore
Erin Hundley led the charge for the Lady Bulldogs with 12 points, 11 assist, 8 digs and 9 kills, while
Kyra Marshall added 11 points, 16 assist, 7 kills, and 10 digs.
Alexus Holt the 2017 MEAC Rookie of the Year finished with a team-high 19 assist, 6 kills and 7 points in the win.
Next up South Carolina State returns to action on Tuesday (Oct. 2) on the road in Boiling Springs, NC in a non-conference matchup with Gardner-Webb. First serve is 6 p.m.
