NORFOLK, VA— The South Carolina State men's tennis team advance to the semifinals with a 4-0 shutout win over Howard Thursday (April. 26^th) in the opening round of the 2018 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tennis Championships at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
 
The No.1 seed Bulldogs claimed the doubles point early on over the No. 4 Bison with wins at the No.1, No.2 and No.3 spots.
 
In singles action, freshman Juan Ramirez def. Sagar Raju at the No. 4 spot (6-0,6-2); Marcelo Rodriguez def. Kyle Martin at the No. 5 spot (6-0,6-0) and Senior Alexsander Stupar closed out the win with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Devaughn Blackburn at the No. 6 spot.
 
The Bulldogs advance to the semifinals to take on the Spartans of Norfolk State in a 12 noon showdown Friday (April. 27^th ).
