TALLAHASSEE, FL— The South Carolina State men's tennis team claimed yet another MEAC Regular Season Division Championship in dominating fashion with an, 7-0, win over Florida A&M Saturday (March. 31
st) at the Rattler Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs improve to 6-5 overall, 5-0 in the MEAC and will be the top-seed in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship (MEAC) Tennis Championships held April 26-28 in Norfolk, VA on the campus of Old Dominion University.
Florida A&M falls to 3-10 overall, 2-1 MEAC on the season.
South Carolina State claimed the double points early on with victories at the No. 2 (6-0) and No. 3 spot (6-3).
In singles action, freshman Aleksa Daskalovic def. F. Nani at the No. 1 spot (6-4, 5-7, 1-0); Senior Jakub Vitek def. N. Adam at the No.2 spot (6-3, 7-5); Senior Vladyslav Yanchenko def. Hema Hasona at the No. 3 spot (6-3,6-3); Freshman Juan Ramirez def. J. Le Gwand at the No. 4 spot (6-0, 6-4); Freshman Marcelo Rodriguez def. J. Skorommyy at the No. 5 spot (6-3, 6-3) and Senior Aleksander Stupar def. L Mosehle at the No. 6 spot (4-6, 7-5, 1-0).
South Carolina State returns to action on Saturday, April 7
th on the road against Radford University. First serve is 1 p.m.
