MTEN: Bulldogs Claim Southern Division Regular Season With Win Over FAMU

TALLAHASSEE, FL— The South Carolina State men's tennis team claimed yet another MEAC Regular Season Division Championship in dominating fashion with an, 7-0, win over Florida A&M Saturday (March. 31st) at the Rattler Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs improve to 6-5 overall, 5-0 in the MEAC and will be the top-seed in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship (MEAC) Tennis Championships held April 26-28 in Norfolk, VA on the campus of Old Dominion University.

Florida A&M falls to 3-10 overall, 2-1 MEAC on the season.

South Carolina State claimed the double points early on with victories at the No. 2 (6-0) and No. 3 spot (6-3).

In singles action, freshman Aleksa Daskalovic def. F. Nani at the No. 1 spot (6-4, 5-7, 1-0); Senior Jakub Vitek def. N. Adam at the No.2 spot (6-3, 7-5); Senior Vladyslav Yanchenko def. Hema Hasona at the No. 3 spot (6-3,6-3); Freshman Juan Ramirez def. J. Le Gwand at the No. 4 spot (6-0, 6-4); Freshman Marcelo Rodriguez def. J. Skorommyy at the No. 5 spot (6-3, 6-3) and Senior Aleksander Stupar def. L Mosehle at the No. 6 spot (4-6, 7-5, 1-0).

South Carolina State returns to action on Saturday, April 7th on the road against Radford University. First serve is 1 p.m.
