ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State women's soccer team closed out their regular season posting the first win of the season with an,3-0, shutout victory over Shaw University on Saturday (Oct.27
th) at O.C. Dawson Stadium/Willie Jeffries Field.
South Carolina State also honored seniors
Taylor Brittingham (G),
Brandy Vaca (M) and
Justine Zepeda (M) who wrapped up their collegiate career in a pregame ceremony.
The Lady Bulldogs jumped out early on a goal my junior
Kayla Mazariego with an assist by
Tamika Aguilar at the 64:30 mark. Zepeda put the SCSU head 2-0 off a goal assisted by Vaca. Aguilar posted her second assist on the night to freshman Shi'Anne Swift to seal the 3-0 victory over South Carolina State.
Brittingham finished with 3-0 saves on the day. South Carolina State close out the season with a 1-11-1 record.
