NORFOLK, VA—Both men's and women's tennis teams advance with shutout victories in the 2017 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tennis Championships at Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center on the campus of Old Dominion University Thursday.

The Lady Bulldogs backed up their top seed Thursday morning with a 4-0 win over Howard in the quarterfinal round. They advanced to Friday's semifinal, where they will face North Carolina A&T State – the Southern Division's No. 3 seed which defeated Norfolk State (the No. 2 seed from the Northern Division) in Thursday's quarterfinal 4-2.

The Bulldogs also boasted a 4-0 win over Howard in the men's quarterfinals, in another match-up of the top Southern Division seed and the No. 4 seed out of the Northern Division. The Bulldogs advanced to Friday's semifinal, where they will face Norfolk State, the No. 2 seed out of the Northern Division.

Semifinal action begins at 9 a.m. on Friday with the women's matches; men's semifinals will start at 12 p.m.

Saturday's championship matches will kick off at 9 a.m. for the women and 12 p.m. for the men.
