ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State women's basketball team look to avenge an early season loss when they host the visiting Lady Pirates of Hampton Monday (Feb.6) at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Tipoff is 5:30 p.m.
The two teams met early this season at the HU Convocation , with Hampton defeating SC State 80-46 (1/25/17.)
The Lady Bulldogs are led by guard
Bryeasha Blair with 17.3 ppg/2
nd in the MEAC and junior forward
Brittany Drumgoole at 10.9 points per outing/15

Jahmia Bradley anchors the frontcourt in rebounding with 6.8 per outing while scoring 7.9 points per game.
South Carolina State (5-15 overall, 2-7 in the league) were doomed by turnovers with a game-high 21 to suffer an ,68-53, setback to Norfolk State on Saturday(Feb.4) in Orangeburg,. Blair led the way with a team-high 15 points.
Hampton (13-9 overall, 7-2 MEAC/2
nd) remains among the top teams in the conference, despite suffering back-to-back MEAC losses to Maryland Eastern Shore (68-65) and Savannah State (55-51).
The Lady Pirates are led by senior guard Malia Tate-DeFreitas with 17.2 ppg and Monnazjea Finney-Smith with 11 ppg. Tate-DeFreitas the leader controlling the tempo with 3.4 assits. Kaylan Lupo dominates the frontcourt with 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game.
SC State returns to action on Saturday (Feb.11) on the road when they take on North Carolina Central in Durham, NC. Tipoff is 2p.m., with the men following in a 4 p.m. start.
