Box Score ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Freshman Alexus Holt let the Lady Bulldogs with a team-high 19 kills, while senior Ashante Finney and freshman added Erin Hundley suppling 11 and 10 kills, respectively, but it wasn't enough as SC State dropped a 3-1 decision to NC Central Thursday night in Dukes Gymnasium.
The Lady Eagles secured a playoff position in the MEAC Volleyball Championships for a second straight season with the 14-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-22 triumph. NCCU (4-17 Overall, 4-4 MEAC) also completed the season series sweep of the Lady Bulldogs. SC State (1-24, 0-8) has lost 13 consecutive matches.
Freshman setter Jenai King posted a double-double of 44 assists and 11 digs. Senior libero
Marcella Chestnut topped South Carolina State's defense with 18 digs.
South Carolina State will close out with their final home regular season match Saturday (Nov. 4
th) against North Carolina State A&T on "Senior Day" at Dukes Gymnasium. First serve is 6 p.m.
