Box Score ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State volleyball suffered another setback dropping a tough 2-3 decision (17-25, 25-15, 25-21, 23-25, 16-18) in five sets to Savannah State Friday (Oct. 13
th) at Dukes Gymnasium.
The Lady Bulldogs took an early 2-1 lead, before SSU rallied back with back-to-back wins to capture the victory.
Freshman
Alexus Holt led SC State with a game-high 27 kills and six (6) aces, while senior Ashante Finney added 14 kills and
Brianna Dafney 13 in the loss. Freshman Jenai contributed 52 assist on the night.
South Carolina State falls to 1-20 overall, 0-5 in the MEAC, while Savannah State improves to 3-18 overall, 1-4 in the league.
SC State takes a break before returning to action on Oct. 27
th against Florida A&M in Tallahassee, Fla, before wrapping up things in the sunshine state in Daytona Beach versus Bethune-Cookman on Sunday, Oct. 29
th.
