ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State women's volleyball team return to conference play tonight when they host the visiting Lady Tigers of Savannah State at Dukes Gymnasium. First serve is 7 p.m.
Both teams will be seeking their first conference win of the season. SC State enters the contest with a 1-19 overall, 0-4 MEAC record, while SSU is 2-18 overall, 0-4 in the league.
Savannah State has lost the last two matches by with a 3-1 score against North Carolina Central University and Georgia Southern University. Last season, the Lady Tigers won both matches against SCSU 3-1.
The Bulldogs have lost the last eight matches and are led by
Alexus Holt with 2.97 kills per set,
Jenai King with 6.94 assists per set and
Marcella Chestnut with 2.30 digs per set.
The Lady Bulldogs return to action on the road against Florida A&M (Oct.27
th) and Bethune-Cookman (Oct. 29
th) in back-to-back Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) battles.
