Box Score ORANGEBURG, SC—Graduate guard
Bryeasha Blair tossed in a game-high 21 points and three steals to lead South Carolina State to a, 50-46, victory over Morgan State Monday (Jan.23) at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
SC State improved to 4-12 overall, 1-5 in the MEAC, while Morgan State falls to 2-16 overall, 0-5 in the league.
Junior guard
Brittany Drumgoole recorded the games on double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while forward
Jahmia Bradley added five points and eight rebounds in a reserve role for the win.
Blair's driving layup with 2:39 left in the second quarter put the Lady Bulldogs head five, 24-19. Drumgoole closed out the intermission on a pair of free-throws from the charity stripe to give SC State a 33-24 advantage at the half.
Sophomore forward
JaQuanna Murray's layup followed by a free-throw gave SC State their biggest lead of the night 12, 39-27 with 6:12 remaining in the third quarter. Freshman guard Kaylin Williams pulled the Lady Bears within three, 44-41, on a layup at the 8:03 mark of the fourth quarter.
Blair closed out the game sinking four straight free-throws down the stretch to give the Lady Bulldogs their first league win of the season. SC State led in several categories on the day including rebounds (41-29), point off turnovers (15-8), second chance points (11-10) and bench points (16-10).
Morgan State was led by junior's guard Zuri White and forward Tykyrah Williams with 11 points each, with White grabbing a team-high eight rebounds in the loss.

SC State will return to MEAC play in a three-game road swing in seven days beginning with Hampton on Wednesday (Jan. 25) at the HU Convocation Center. Tipoff for the women is 5 p.m., with the men's contest following immediately afterwards in a 7 p.m. start.
