ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State men's basketball team will host the second of its four-game home MEAC stretch against Savannah State Monday (Jan.16)
at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.

In their last outing the Bulldogs (4-11 overall, 1-1 MEAC) held off a feisty Bethune-Cookman Wildcat team to capture an, 78-74, victory. Junior forward
Tashombe Riley led SC State with a game-high 21 points and nine rebounds, while senior guard
Eric Eaves added 17 points and five rebounds in the win.
Meanwhile the Tigers (5-12 overall, 2-2 MEAC) defeated Florida A&M 93-88 for their second league win of the season Saturday. Dexter McClanahan led the Tigers with a team-high 21 points and Jahir Cabeza grabbed eight (8) rebounds in the win.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS: Senior All-MEAC & Boxtorow All-American guard
Eric Eaves leads SC State with a 15.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Junior forward
Tashombe Riley adds 11.6 ppg and 4.9 rpg. Guard's senior
Greg Mortimer and junior James "JJ" Richardson chips in a little over 9.1 points and
Edward Stephens (7.2 ppg) controls the tempo on the floor with 2.3 assist.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS: SSU has four players in double-figures with McClanahan leading the way with 15.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Troyce Manassa is second with 12.8 points and 4.5 rebounds, while Robert Kelly adds 11.7 ppg and 5.9 boards. Austin Dissent plays a reserve role for SSU chipping in 10.2 and 3.6 rebounds. Zach Sellers is the leader on the floor with 3.2 assist per outing.
