ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State tennis teams played host to Bethune-Cookman over the weekend at the
Hardeep Judge Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs prevailed with a 4-3 victory over the Wildcats. South Carolina State improves to 8-6 overall, 3-1 in the MEAC.
SC State scored early claiming the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 (6-1) and No. 3 (6-1) spots.
In singles action,
Jakub Vitek def. Justin Hall (6-2, 6-1) at the No. 3 spot;
Stanislav Baco def. Jose Plazas (6-4,6-3) at the No. 4 spot and
Edgar Diaz def. Alavro Barrera (6-4,6-2) at the No.6 spot.
On the women's side, the Lady Bulldogs (4-10 overall, 3-1 MEAC) dropped a 3-4 heartbreaker to the Lady Wildcats.
SC State scored on the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 (6-4) and No. 3 (6-2) spots.
