ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State men's tennis team improved to 2-4 on the season after a 4-3 victory over Gardner-Webb Friday (Mar. 11) at
Hardeep Judge Tennis Center.
Gardner-Webb claimed the doubles point early on in the contest.
In singles action, sophomore
Jakub Vitek defeated Zukercov 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 2 spot;
Vladyslav Yanchenko def. Hogan, 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 3 spot;
Aleksander Stupar def. Schmidt 6-1,3-6,7-5 at the No. 5 spot and
Edgar Diaz def. J. Walker 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 6 spot.
South Carolina State returns action on Saturday (Mar.12) when they host Boston University in a non-conference matchup. First serve is 12 noon.
