Box Score MORAGA, CALIF.—South Carolina State dropped a tough, 74-47, non-conference decision to No. 19 Saint Mary's College Thursday (Dec.22) at The Pavilion.
 
Senior guard Eric Eaves led the Bulldogs with a team-high 11 points, while junior's Tashombe Riley and James Richardson added eight points each. Freshman forward Ian Kinard chipped in seven points and three rebounds in the loss.
 
Despite the loss, the Bulldogs (3-9) defense forced the Gaels (10-1) to a game-high 14 turnovers.
 
Both teams were nearly even in most categories with SC State getting solid play in points in the paint (24), points off turnovers (12), fast break points (8), and points from the bench (17).
 
Up next South Carolina State will wrap up non-conference play on the road at Jacksonville University Saturday (Dec. 31).  Tipoff is 12 noon.
