GREENVILLE, SC—South Carolina State (2-8) resumes play in their holiday road swing Friday (Dec. 16) against Furman University (6-4) in a non-conference matchup at Timmons Arena. Tipoff is 7 p.m. and will be televised live on ESPN3.
SERIES HISTORY: This will be 16th meeting between the two schools with Furman leading the series 11-4 over South Carolina State. The last time the two teams met on the hardwood the Paladins claimed a 59-55 victory over the Bulldogs on Nov. 23, 2010 in Orangeburg. SC State captured their last victory over Furman on Dec. 18, 2009 in a 93-91 overtime win in Greenville, SC at Timmons Arena.
LAST TIMEOUT: South Carolina State (2-8) dropped a tough 93-65 decision to their third ACC opponent of the season at Clemson University on Tuesday (Dec. 13) in Littlejohn Coliseum. Senior guard Eric "EJ" Eaves tossed in a team-high 20 points, hitting 3-of-4 from behind the arc. Junior forward

PALADIN QUICK HIT: Junior guard Devin Sibley leads Sibley leads Furman averaging 15 points per game, while guard Daniel Fowler has added 12.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. Senior forward Kris Acox, who has shot 55.4% from the field this season, has contributed 11 points and team-best 6.1 rebounds per game.
