ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State Bulldogs will debut its 2016-17 home opener Monday night against St. Andrews University in a non-conference matchup at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Tip-off is 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs (0-1) look to bounce back after a tough 85-39 loss in the season opener on the road at Wichita State Friday. Senior guard
Greg Mortimer led the way with a team-high 14 points, while
Eric Eaves added 10.
Meanwhile, the Knights (1-1) dropped a pair of tough losses at Florida College (80-92) and USC-Aiken (69-91) on last week. St. Andrews was led by Lee Vanderhorst with a game-high 27 points and Bryan Brache with 18.
South Carolina State returns to action on Friday (Nov.18) on the road versus intrastate rival the University of South Carolina in a battle agiainst in Columbia SC. Tip-off is 6:30 p.m.
