Box Score ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Samara Brown had 12 kills and teammate Alyssa Pitt finished with 11 kills to lead the North Carolina A&T women's volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-18) Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference win on Sunday afternoon at Dukes Gym.
After falling quickly in the first set, SC State (0-18, 0-4 MEAC) took a 10-5 lead in the set 2. A&T (4-9, 2-0 MEAC) rallied back to tie the set at 14-all and then both teams traded points for the rest of the set. The Lady Aggies took the set 25-23 and swept the match after winning set 3.
Briana Dafney led the Lady Bulldogs with 13 kills. Fabiola Plaza had team-highs of 28 assists and six digs. Marcella Chestnut tallied nine kills, three aces and 1.5 total blocks, while Ashante Finnie had eight kills and four digs.
The Lady Bulldogs continue conference play on Friday when the travel to Savannah, Ga. to take on Savannah State at 5 p.m.
