Box Score ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The South Carolina State women's volleyball team lost 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-22) loss to Bethune-Cookman on Sunday afternoon at Dukes Gymnasium.
Each set was close the entire way, but Bethune-Cookman (5-11, 2-0 MEAC) managed three straight set wins to take the match.
Kirby Anderson,
Brianna Dafney and Ashante Finne each had nine kills for SC State (0-10, 0-2 MEAC). Anderson added seven digs and 2.5 blocks.
Melanie Williams had 27 assists and three digs, while
Marissa Lawrence tallied six kills and seven digs.
The Lady Bulldogs continue MEAC play next weekend when they travel to North Carolina for two matches. They play at North Carolina Central in Durham on Friday at 7 p.m. and then at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
