CLINTON, SC—The South Carolina State men's tennis extended its winning streak to six straight, after a 5-2 victory over Presbyterian College Saturday morning (March. 7) at the Templeton Tennis Courts. 

South Carolina State improves to 6-1 on the season, while Presbyterian drops to 10-3 on the year.

"We played a really solid PC team today who knocked off a couple of nationally ranked teams this season," said SC State head coach Hardeep Judge. "Although we were up in the doubles we lost two and three in tiebreaks, but we really came back strong in singles taking five of the six spots."

In double actions, the Bulldogs got behind early on with the only victory coming from Carey/Figura def. Lykou/Roberts and the No.1 spot.  PC claimed the doubles point.

South Carolina State dominated in singles claiming victories with senior Rodney Carey def. Ryan Miller (6-3,6-2) at the No.1 spot; sophomore Martin Figura Def. Alexander Lykou (6-0, 6-2) at the No. 2 spot; freshman Vladyslav Yanchenko def. Danny Bruce  (1-6, 6-2,6-4) at the No.3 spot; sophomore Soufiane Mouline def. Diego Manzanas  (6-3,6-4) at the No.4 spot and Edgar Diaz defeated Ben Kelley at the No. 6 spot 5-7, 6-3, 10-3.

"As we get our team healthier we look to get better and try to perform strong against non-conference opponents as well conference," said Judge.  
SC State returns to action on Tuesday (March.10) against George Mason University in Hilton Head, SC. First serve begins at 1 p.m.
