DAYTONA BEACH, Fla—The South Carolina State men's basketball team will face one of their toughest league opponents early in conference play Monday (Dec.7), when they battle the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman at Moore Gymnasium. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m., immediately following the women's contest.
The Bulldogs (4-4 overall, 1-0 MEAC) look to go 2-0 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action, after posting an impressive 79-67 road win over Florida A&M Saturday (Dec.5) at the Al Lawton Center.

Greg Mortimer tossed in a game-high 21 points, while JUCO transfer
Eric Eaves added 20 to lead SC State to victory.
SC State is led by Eaves with 17.5 ppg, while sophomore guard
Ed Stephens is second with 14.3 points and 2.4 rebounds per outing. Senior guard/forward
Gabriel McCray s adds 12.3 points and 4.9 rebounds and junior guard
Greg Mortimer chips in 10.4 ppg and 3.0 assists.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats (2-4) are coming off 108-54 victory over Trinity (FLA.) College at home Thursday (Dec. 3). BC-U was led by Mario Moody with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Quinton Forrest added 18. Laron Smith grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds along with scoring 10 points.
BC-U is led by junior guard Jordan Potts (16.8 ppg, 4.0 apg) and senior forward Mario Moody (11.5 ppg, 4.7 rpg). Preseason All MEAC senior guard Ricky Johnson (8.5 ppg 2.0 apg) provides the leadership for the Wildcats.
As a team, SC State is averaging 31.5 rebounds, 5.8 steals, and forcing 14.5 turnovers, while shooting 72% (148-of-206) from the free-throw line per game.
South Carolina State returns to action on Saturday (Dec. 12) when they host Jacksonville University in a non-conference matchup at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Tip-off is 2 p.m.
