PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The South Carolina State women's volleyball team lost 3-0 (25-14, 25-23, 25-20) to Howard in the opening round of the 2015 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship. The Lady Bulldogs end the season with a 4-19 overall record. Howard advances to the semifinal round against Florida A&M on Saturday.

Senior Marissa Lawrence led the Lady Bulldog effort with 10 kills. She added four assists and three digs. Sophomore Marcella Chestnut had a match-high 16 digs, while freshman Brianna Dafney tallied seven kills, three digs and three total blocks. Senior Melanie Williams had a match-high 24 assists.

For Howard (16-13), Courtney Dalton (13) and Khaila Donaldson (11) each had double-digit kills. Tamia Dockery and Briana Jackson split time at setter, recording 18 and 14 assists, respectively.
