PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The South Carolina State women's volleyball team, the fourth seed in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division, will take on northern division top-seed Howard University at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Maryland Eastern Shore Hytche Athletic Center.
The three-day, single elimination tournament begins on Friday morning with No. 2 Florida A&M taking on No. 3 Maryland Eastern Shore at 10 a.m. Live stats are available for all matches at

SC State finished the regular season with a 4-18 overall record and went 4-6 in conference play. Howard is 15-13 on the year and 11-1 in the MEAC and was named the Northern Division champion at the end of the regular season.
Tournament HistoryThe Lady Bulldogs have won two MEAC titles, with the first coming in 1990. They defeated Delaware State 3-1 in 2010 to take their second crown. SC State faced Howard in the opening round of the 2010 tournament and defeated the Lady Bison 3-1 to advance to the semifinal round where a 3-1 win over UMES sent the Lady Bulldogs to the title match.
SC State is making its first tournament appearance since 2013. That year, the Lady Bulldogs fell 3-1 to Hampton in the opening round.
