SC State to Participate in Division I Independent Women’s Soccer Tournament

FLORENCE, S.C. – The South Carolina State women's soccer team is set to participate in the 2015 NCAA Division I Independent Women's Soccer Tournament that will be hosted by Francis Marion University on Friday and Sunday.
 
The four-match event will be held on Hartzler Field in the Griffin Athletic Complex.  Daily admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
 
The tournament will begin with Delaware State University (6-9-3) playing Hampton University (0-8) at 4 p.m. on Friday, followed by Francis Marion (3-17) battling SC State (1-10-1) at 7 p.m.
 
The Lady Bulldogs' match against Francis Marion will be streamed live online, and shown locally on Time Warner Cable channel 11, courtesy of the Patriot Sports Network.
 
Friday's winners will square off in the championship match on Sunday, while Friday's losers will meet in a third-place contest. Regardless of Friday's outcomes, Francis Marion will play at 2 p.m. on Sunday with the opening match starting at 11:30 a.m.
 
Sophomore Tierra Pullard leads SC State with four goals and nine points. Senior Hailey Austin has started every match in goal for the Lady Bulldogs this season and has tallied 93 saves in 1,140 minutes.
