ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The South Carolina State women's volleyball team hosts North Carolina Central on Friday (6 p.m.) and North Carolina A&T on Sunday (2 p.m.) in two pivotal Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference matches.
The Lady Bulldogs (2-17, 2-5 MEAC) are currently fifth in the MEAC Southern Division standings behind A&T (third) and NCCU (fourth). The top four teams in the division advance to the 2015 MEAC Championship which will be held on Nov. 20-22 at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Md.
SC State is coming off two MEAC losses at Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman last weekend.
NCCU is 3-21 overall and 2-4 in MEAC play, while A&T is 5-11 and 3-3. In earlier meetings this season, SC State defeated NCCU 3-0 and then fell 3-0 at A&T.
The Lady Bulldogs' three seniors,
Marissa Lawrence,
Shandice Sluch and
Melanie Williams, will be honored in the Senior Day Ceremony prior to Sunday's match.
