Box Score DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – South Carolina State junior Marissa Lawrence had a match-high nine kills, but it was not enough as the Bethune-Cookman University women's volleyball team posted a 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-19) win over the Lady Bulldogs.
 
Rhea Simon of B-CU (3-13, 1-0 MEAC) led her team with eight kills and added 11 digs. Hazel Ortiz-Rosado had a double-double of 26 assists and 12 digs (both match-highs). Rakaya Neely hit .800 with five kills and seven total blocks (four solo).
 
Shandice Sluch and Erica Pritchett each had four kills for SC State (0-15, 0-1 MEAC). Melanie Williams had team-highs of 10 assists and 10 digs, while Kiana Stone and Kirby Anderson each tallied three total blocks. Sluch also had four total blocks.
 
The Lady Bulldogs continue their swing through the Sunshine State as they take on Florida A&M at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
