SC State Defeats Kennesaw State In Men’s Tennis Action

ALPHARETTA,GA— The South Carolina State men's tennis team posted their first win of the season in a , 4-3, victory over Kennesaw State Saturday at the Fair Oaks Tennis Center in Marietta GA.

The Bulldogs secured the doubles point early on with wins Martin Kobza/Soufiane (SCSU) def. Simon Pritchar/Maksim Yorsh (KSU); 6-5 (4) at the No. 1 spot; and Daniel Vala/Martin Figura (SCS) def. Jorge Wilton/Louis Theodor (KSU); 6-1 at the No. 2.

With a 1-0 lead freshman Martin Kobza made it 2-0 for the Bulldogs with an impressive, 6-1, 6-0, win over Louis Theodor (KSU) at the No. 2 spot. Martin Figura and Stanislav Baco notched two set wins at the No. 6 and No. 4 spot.

"This was a great win for our young team and it was great to see so many of our Bulldog Alumni out supporting us in Atlanta," said SC State head coach Hardeep Judge. "They guys really fed off the environment and as we get more matches and practices in we will get better."

South Carolina returns to action on Sunday when they take Georgia State in a non-conference matchup. First serve is 12:30 p.m
