ORANGEBURG, SC--The South Carolina State tennis teams will host the visiting Spartans of Norfolk State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opener. The women will open play Saturday in a 9:30 a.m. contest, followed by the men on Sunday in a 10:30 a.m. showdown at SCSU Tennis Courts.

The SC State Lady Bulldogs (1-3) is coming off of a 7-0 loss to North Florida on last week, while the Lady Spartans (3-3, 1-1) went 1-1 over the weekend, picked up a 7-0 win over Christopher Newport and dropped a tough,4-3, decision North Carolina Central in their last two outings.

On the men's side, SC State (1-4) dropped a pair of matches last weekend, with a 5-2 loss at Winthrop and a 6-1 defeat to UNC Charlotte. The Spartans (3-3, 1-0) swept both Christopher Newport and North Carolina Central last weekend, with sophomore Dzmitry Zyhmantovich last season's MEAC Rookie of the Year looking to extend his four singles match winning streak
