Inside the Game: The Lady Bulldogs host the College of Charleston in a 4 p.m. matchup on Sunday at the S-H-M Memorial Center. SC State (7-4) is coming off a 66-57 loss at Clemson last Sunday.
Kourtney Williams and
Amber Howard each finished with 16 points. Howard scored 13 of her points in the second half after going 4-for-8 from the floor, including 3-of-5 from long range. Williams poured in 11 second-half points.
Jasmine Coleman led SC State with seven rebounds, while
Ashleigh Outler grabbed six.
College of Charleston (1-8) got its first win of the season after a 72-59 defeat of Mercer last Sunday. Bre Bolden and Erin Hall combined for 38 points in head coach Candice M. Jackson's first career win. Hall leads the Cougars in scoring with 10.6 points per game, while Bolden is grabbing a team-high 6.4 boards per contest this season.
Looking Ahead: The Lady Bulldogs play their final non-conference game next Sunday when they welcome Furman to the S-H-M Memorial Center on Jan. 4 for a 4 p.m. contest. SC State resumes MEAC play on Jan. 10 and 12 with games at North Carolina Central (2 p.m.) and at North Carolina A&T (5:30 p.m.).
