SC State Travels to North Carolina for Final Tournament of Non-Conference Play

SC State Travels to Charlotter for 49er Invitational

Orangeburg, S.C.—The SC State women's volleyball team will travel to Charlotte, N.C. for its final non-conference tournament of the 2013 season. The Lady Bulldogs will participate in the 49er Invitational hosted by UNC-Charlotte, this weekend, Friday-Saturday, Sept. 20-21, 2013. SC State will open tournament play against host UNC-Charlotte on Friday (Sept. 20) at 7 p.m. The Lady Bulldogs will take on Elon University at 10 a.m. on Saturday (Sept. 21) and will close out tournament play versus Tennessee State University at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The Lady Bulldogs enters the tournament with a 0-10 record. Senior Desire Waller continues to lead the SC State with 103 kills (3.43 per set). Sophomore Melanie Williams has put up 191 set assists while freshman Victoria Ferguson has 89 digs to lead the Lady Bulldogs back row defense. As whole, the Lady Bulldogs are averaging 8.03 kills and 1.37 blocks per set.
