SC State Return Home to Host UNC-Asheville in Women’s Soccer

SC State Host UNC-Asheville Tomorrow
Orangeburg, S.C.—After going 0-1-1 to snap its four-game losing streak during the GWU/Under Armour Border Classic last Friday and Sunday, the SC State women's soccer team returns home to host the Bulldogs of UNC-Asheville. The Battle of the Bulldogs will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Oliver C. Dawson Stadium at SC State.

SC State, who enters with a 3-6-1 overall record, is led by senior Kaitlynn Cortez and junior Dominique Brown with seven points each. Junior transfer Janell Cash has recorded six points while senior Tori Papp has four on the season.

UNC-Asheville enters tomorrow night's contest with a 4-3 overall record. Kennedy Garrett has scored two goals with two assists for six points to lead the Bulldogs. Shenny Lehart has five points and Amanda Dailor has three points for UNC-Asheville.

The Lady Bulldogs will hit the road for its next two matches as they travel to Houston, Texas to participate in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge. SC State will face Prairie View A&M on Friday (Sept. 20) and Texas Southern on Sunday (Sept. 22). The Lady Bulldogs will then have an 11 day hiatus before returning to Bulldog Stadium on Friday, Oct. 4 when they host Howard.
