Boiling Springs, N.C.— USC-Upstate outshot SC State, 20-8, but could not find the back of the net, as the teams ended the game in a 0-0 tie on the first day of the GWU/Under Armour Border Classic on Friday (Sept. 13). The classic, which is being hosted by Gardner-Webb, concludes tomorrow, Sunday, (Sept. 15). With the tie, the Lady Bulldogs snaps a four-game losing streak.

SC State (3-5-1), was led by junior Dominique Brown and freshman Brittany Rodrigue, who had two shots each. Sophomore goalkeeper Haley Austin was solid in the net. She recorded seven saves off seven shots on goal.

USC-Upstate was led by Kenzie Major with nine shots.

The Lady Bulldogs will face the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga at 1 p.m. on the second day of the classic. SC State will host UNC-Asheville on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.
