SC State Tennis Teams Split On The Road Aganist Campbell

BUIES CREEK, NC—The South Carolina State men's and women's tennis teams split of pair of victories on Monday, as the Bulldogs dropped a  4-2 decision to Campbell, while the women prevailed 4-1 over the Lady Camels at the Nisbet  Tennis Center.
        Coach Hardeep Judge and the Lady Bulldogs jumped out early on taking the doubles point with Craciun/Dohnalova def. Chernnaya/Stanic 8-4 at the No. 1 spot and at the No. 3 spot Khatcei/Bosneag knocked off Ros/Telenga, 8-4.
        In singles action, senior  Maria Craciun def. Karolina Chernaya in two sets   6-1,6-0 at the No.1 spot; at the No. 3 spot freshman Klara Dohnalova def. Ana Maria Ortiz, 6-1, 6-2; and  Kateryna Nakonechna def. Natasha Afridi 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 4 spot in  two sets.
        Meanwhile on the men's side the Bulldogs dropped the doubles point early on in the contest.  In singles action senior Anton Protsenko def.  Adrien Rossingnon in two sets 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 2 spot; junior Artemiy Nikitin def. Steven Billington 6-4,6-4 at the No. 3 spot.
         The Lady Bulldogs improved to 11-4 overall, while the Bulldogs dropped to 10-4 on the season.
         Both South Carolina State teams will return to action on Saturday when they travel to the sunshine state to take on Bethune-Cookman in a pivotal MEAC showdown. First-Serve begins at  10 a.m.
