Bulldogs Close Out Regular Season At Home Against Delaware State

Senior guard Khalif Toombs will play his final game as a Bulldog Thursday night at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State men's basketball team will play their regular season finale Thursday when they host the visiting Hornets of Delaware State in a pivotal MEAC showdown. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m., immediately following the women's contest.
         Coach Murray Garvin and the Bulldogs (5-23 overall, 1-14 MEAC) are seeking their second conference win of the season against a talented and 7th ranked Delaware State (13-16, 8-7 MEAC) team.  SC State will looking to snap a five-game losing skid, while the Hornets look to rebound after a tough 66-47 loss to Morgan State on last week.
         The Bulldogs is led scoring and rebounds by junior forward Matthew Hezekiah with 12.9 ppg, and 7.5 rpg. Senior point guard Khalif Toombs is second with 12.1 points per outing and 5.4 assist.  Freshman forward Darryl Palmer is the force in the middle and second on the team in rebounds with 5.8, while scoring 9.7 points per contest.
         South Carolina State will return to action on Monday in the first-round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament. The Bulldogs will enter the tourney as the #13 seed and will face the #4 seed in a 7:30 p.m. showdown at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, VA.
