SC State Women's Basketball Hit the Road for Season Opener

Orangeburg, S.C.—The SC State women's basketball team will travel to Greensboro, N.C. tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 15, to take on UNC-Greensboro (UNC-G) in it 2013-14 season-opener. Tip off for tomorrow's contest is set for 2 p.m. at Fleming Gymnasium on the campus of UNC-G.

SC State finished the 2012-13 campaign with a 20-9 overall record. Senior Cabriel Duren and junior Kourtney Williams are the top returnee's for the Lady Bulldogs, who will play their next seven of eight games on the road. Duren finished last season averaging 5.7 points and 2.5 assists per game while Williams was third in scoring at 7.6 points per outing.

UNC-G brings an 0-2 overall record into the matinée contest. Breonna Patterson leads the Spartans in scoring at 12 points per game while Janaé Stevenson leads the team in rebounding at six boards per contest.

SC State will travel to Spartanburg, SC, Tuesday, Nov. 19, to take on the Spartans of USC-Upstate. The Lady Bulldogs will host Presbyterian in its 2013-14 home opener next Thursday, Nov. 21. Tip off for Thursday's contest is set for 6 p.m. in the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
