SC State will face Hampton in the opening round of the 2013 MEAC Tournament

Orangeburg, S.C. --The SC State women's volleyball team will be the fourth seed in the Southern Division for the 2013 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Championships, set for Friday-Sunday, Nov. 15-17, 2013.

SC State finished its 2013 regular season campaign, 6-21 overall and 5-5 in the Southern Division of the MEAC. The Lady Bulldogs finished tied in the conference with Bethune-Cookman, but the Lady Wildcats won the tiebreaker to earn the third seed. For the third straight year SC State will open the post-season tournament against Hampton, who finished first in the Northern Division of the MEAC. The teams will play the second match of the tournament on Friday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. If SC State advances, they will face the winner of the North Carolina A&T-Howard match, Saturday at 12 noon on Saturday, Nov. 16.

Tournament play begins on Friday, November 15 at 10 a.m. with the NC&AT-Howard match at the Physical Education Complex on the campus of Coppin State University in Baltimore, Md. Admission for the tournament is $7 each day and $15 for three-day passes. General Parking will be $5 in Lot H. The championship will conclude on Sunday, November 17 beginning at noon. The championship finale will be streamed live via www.MEACSports.com.
