SC State Women’s Volleyball Travel to Florida for a Pair of MEAC Matches

Orangeburg, S.C.—The SC State women's volleyball team will travel to Florida this Friday and Sunday, Oct. 25 and 27, for a pair of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) volleyball matches. The Lady Bulldogs will face Florida A&M on Friday in Tallahassee and will travel to Daytona Beach on Sunday to take on the Lady Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman.

SC State enters the weekend with a 3-18 overall record and 2-3 in the MEAC. Senior Desire Waller leads the Lady Bulldogs offensively with 285 kills (4.07 kills/per set). She also has 159 digs with 30 total blocks. SC State is led defensively by senior Alyse Lewis and freshman Victoria Ferguson with 59 blocks and 206 digs, respectively.

Florida A&M enters Friday's match with a 9-6 overall record and 5-0 MEAC bill. Katherine Huanec and Yeisha Arcia lead the Lady Rattlers in kills with 177 and 137, respectively. Joanie Del Castillo leads the team defensively with 261 digs.

Bethune-Cookman, who will face Savannah State on Friday, enters the weekend with a 4-22 overall record and 3-2 in the MEAC. Delicia Pierre and Jennifer Jimenez lead the Lady Wildcats with 265 kills and 214 digs, respectively.

The Lady Bulldogs will return to Dukes Gymnasium on Tuesday, Oct. 29 when they host Charleston Southern in a 7 p.m. non-conference match.
