SC State Women’s Soccer Falls to Francis Marion in Season Finale

Senior Kaitlynn Cortez scored the Lady Bulldogs lone goal in the match

Box Score Orangeburg, S.C.—The SC State women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to Francis Marion in their 2013 season finale. With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs finish the season 6-12-1.

Senior Kaitlynn Cortez got SC State on the scoreboard first, scoring the Lady Bulldogs lone goal at the 60:27 mark. Francis Marion's first goal came at the 78:32 mark as Kristyn Leung off the assist from Channel Harris who received headed the ball off a corner kick by Kelly Anthony. Neither team could score over the next 11-plus minutes as regulation ended in a 1-1 tie and forcing overtime.

Just 1:43 into the extra period, Channel Harris scored the game-winning goal off an assist from Elizabeth Asare to give Francis Marion the 2-1 victory.
