SC State Falls to Gardner-Webb in a Non-Conference Volleyball Match

Box Score Orangeburg, S.C.--Senior Desire Waller put down a match-high 17 kills (.375 hitting percentage) as SC State fell to Gardner-Webb 3-0, (21-25, 17-25, 16-25), in a non-conference volleyball match.

Alyse Lewis put down five kills with two solo blocks and freshman Melanie Williams had 27 set assists for the Lady Bulldogs, who dropped to 1-15 overall. Despite the loss, SC State out-blocked Gardner-Webb by one, 6-5.

Gardner-Webb (7-10) was led by Erin Anderson and Emily Holte who both recorded nine kills. Anderson also had a game-high nine digs on the night.

SC State will close-out its four-game home-stand this Friday, Oct. 4 when they host Savannah State in a 7 p.m. Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference
