SC State Falls To Florida A&M in Women’s Volleyball

Tallahassee, Fla.—The SC State women's volleyball team fell to Florida A&M, 3-0, (13-25, 19-25, 15-25), in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference matchup.  The contest was the second of three road games to start the conference season. 

SC State (4-8, 1-1 MEAC) had just one player to record double-digit kills as Desire Waller put down 13.  Maya Bell contributed six kills and E. Paige Webb picked up 13 digs in the loss.  Freshman Melanie Williams put up 21 set assists with six digs in the contest.

Florida A&M had two players to record double-digit kills as Yeisha Arcia had 16 and Pamela Barrera put down 10 in the win.  Diana Gonzales had a game-high 25 set assists as the Lady Rattlers improved to 4-8 overall and 2-0 in the MEAC.

The Lady Bulldogs will close out its road swing on Friday, Oct. 5 when they travel to Savannah, Ga. to take on the Lady Tigers of Savannah State University.  SC State will open its home conference season next Friday, Oct. 12 when they host North Carolina A&T.
