SC State Women's Volleyball Opens MEAC Play Friday Versus Bethune-Cookman

Orangeburg, S.C.--The Lady Bulldogs will travel to Daytona Beach, Fla., this Friday, Sept. 28, to take on the winless Bethune-Cookman Lady Wildcats in their 2012 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) opener.  First serve is set for 6 p.m. at Moore Gymnasium on the campus of Bethune-Cookman University.

SC State enters the contest with a 3-7 overall record after going 1-2 in the Spartan Invitational last weekend.  Junior Desire Waller, who was named the MEAC Player of the Week, leads the team in kills with 129 (4.78 per set).   

Bethune-Cookman, who comes into the contest with a 0-17 overall record, fell to Florida Atlantic, 0-3, on Tuesday.  Krista Gardner pace the Lady Wildcats with 163 kills (3.02 per set).

The Lady Bulldogs will remain in the Sunshine State as they travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to face the Lady Rattlers of Florida A&M on Sunday (Sept. 30). SC State will close out its three-game road swing next Friday (Oct. 5) when they travel to Savannah, Ga. to face the Lady Tigers of Savannah State.
