CLEMSON, S.C. – The SC State University women's volleyball team will open its 2012 season this weekend, Friday-Saturday, August 24-25, at the two-day Big Orange Bash hosted by Clemson University. All games of the tournament will be available via live stats a
SC State will open play on Friday at 4:30 p.m. when they take on the Xavier. The Lady Bulldogs will face host Clemson on Saturday at 12 noon before closing the tournament against Coastal Carolina at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Saturday's match against Clemson can be viewed live by accessing TigerCast at Clemsontigers.com.
The Lady Bulldogs will travel to Beaumont, Texas to participate in the Lamar Invitational next weekend, Friday-Saturday, Aug. 31-Sept. 1, before returning home for its 2012 home-opener on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. when they host Campbell.
SC State finished the 2011 season with a 17-16 overall, and second in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Southern Division at 6-2. Junior Desire Waller has been named to the MEAC 2012 Pre-Season First Team and the Lady Bulldogs as a whole was selected to finish second in the southern division of the conference.
