SC State Men’s Tennis Team Post A Pair Of Victories Over The Weekend

ASHEVILLE, NC—The South Carolina State Bulldogs improved their record to 6-1 overall, posting a pair of victories over Newberry, 7-0 Friday and UNC-Asheville, 5-2 on Saturday.
         The Bulldogs dominated the Indians 7-0 at SCSU Tennis Courts on the campus of SC State University. SC State earned the doubles point with Peteris Vinogradous/Artmetiy Nikitin defeating Botelo/Saunders, 8-1; Dmytro Kovalevych/Anton Protsenko def. Chabis/Soverislg, 8-2; and Jung Eun-Lee/Tomas Bizon winning over Kiser/Betleo, 8-1.
           In singles action, Kovalevych def. Saunders (7-5, 6-0); A. Protsenko def. Botelo (6-3, 6-1); P. Vinogradous def. Chobis (6-2, 6-3); A. Nikitin def. Loveridg (6-2, 6-1); J. Lee def. Nicolopolo (6-2, 6-1) and Young Lee winning Sons 6-0, 6-0.
        In Saturday action SC State defeated UNC-Asheville, 5-2 in men's tennis action in Asheville, NC.
         “We played a solid UNC-Asheville team, which had only lost one doubles point all year so I knew we had to play hard to beat them,”said SC State head Coach Hardeep Judge. “Im proud of my team they responded dominating the doubles play and its always an adjustment when you playing in high altidutes but I am glad we adjusted.”
         The Bulldogs took the early 1-0 lead after winning all three doubles positions. SC State would go on to win the number 3 spot to 6 singles position, with Anton Protsenko (6-3, 6-4); Artemiy Nikitin (6-2, 6-3);Peteris Vinogradovs (3-6, 6-4, 6-2) and Jang Lee (6-3, 5-7, 6-2) all gaining victories in singles action.
