SC State Men’s Tennis Team Falls To Stetson

DELAND, FL —The South Carolina State men's tennis team dropped its first match of the season in a close 4-3 decision to nationally-ranked Stetson Sunday.
      Stetson University is ranked 50^th in the nation among the Collegiate Top 100 Rankings.
       The Bulldogs (1-1) were playing its second match in two days; fell behind early losing the doubles point in the match.
       In singles action, Artemiy Nikitin defeated Chester Espie 6-2, 6-2; Anton Protsenko defeated Njal Stene 6-4,5-7, 6-1     while Young Kwan Lee won in three sets over Nathan Debut 3-6, 6-0, 7-5.
        SC State had a chance to pull the upset with the match tied 3-3 junior Peteris Vinogradous loss in the tie-breaker to give Stetson the 4-3 victory.

      SC State will return to action on Feb.11, when they travel to Savannah, Ga to take on Savannah College Art & Design.
